Cauliflower & Hemp Seed Breakfast Bowl
Sunday mornings are my favorite mornings. One word defines this for me, GRITS. Grits, eggs, bacon with pancakes is one of favorite go-to breakfast.
Unfortunately, 1/4 c dried grits has over 23g carbs. How did I continue enjoying Sunday morning breakfasts?
With a little bit of thinking, inspirations, and experiments I've created these lower carb version of grits that I know you will love!
Cauliflower & Hemp Seed Breakfast Bowl “Grits”
Enjoy your Sunday breakfast grits without the carbs.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Hemp Seeds
- 1 1/4 cup Cauliflower Rice
- 1/4 tsp Xanthan Gum
- 1 cup Water
- 2 tbsp Dairy-Free Heavy Whipping Cream (optional)
- 1 tbsp ghee/unrefined coconut oil
- 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/8 tsp Black pepper
Instructions
- Melt ghee in a small non-stick pot set to medium heat
- Add riced cauliflower and hemp seeds and saute for 2 minutes
- Add water, xanthan gum, garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper and stir well.
- Bring heat down to low-simmer until mixture has thickened and cauliflower is tender.
- Add dairy free cheese as optional
- Serve and ENJOY!
Saphia’s Tips:
- Do not over cook the cauliflower or your grits will be smushy
- For a thicker texture, you can also add 2 tbsp of heavy cream (they have dairy-free heavy cream as well)
